Netbook Reflection

Hi my name is Kane and I go to Panmure Bridge School I am in room 6 and I am a Year 7 student this my netbook reflection 2012

The positive things about having a Netbook is that it's easier to research the facts you want, to finish off your work or presentation, Study ladder is a maths website where you can do activities your teacher has sent you or play with other people around the world in a maths competition.

The negative things about having a netbook is that people can get distracted and go off task by playing games and going on the wrong sites, people can also listen to music when they are not supposed to and can also post bad comments on other blogs.

The unusual things about having a netbook is using shortcuts to get to other pages quicker or change to a different window with out clicking anything.

My Mum

My Mum

Her hair is like
soft clouds.

Her eyes are
shining diamonds.

Her hugs are gentle and warm
when she puts her arms around me.

A Boy's head

A Boy’s Head

In it there is a food court
and a project
for doing away with maths.

And there is
hamburger,
which comes first.

And there is
an entirely new world,
an entirely new milkshake,
an entirely new burger,

There is a burger
that is eating chips.

There is a school.

There is a anti-yuck burger

And it cannot be held back.

I believe
that only what cannot be held back
is a head.

There is much promise
in the fact that
so many people have heads.

Wood Tech

Room 6 is at Tamaki Collage putting the finishing touches on our planes.  My friends and I worked hard to finish our planes.  Our Wood Tech teacher, Mr Thomas showed us what all the tools are for.  Everyone enjoyed themselves while we were there.  At the end of the sessions everyone got to take their projects home to show off to their families.

I asked the little boy who cannot see

I asked the little boy who cannot see

I asked the little boy who cannot see,
‘And what is colour like?’
‘Why green,’ he said,
‘Is like trees blowing softly in the wind.
Purple is the lovely smell of violets,
Yellow is the warm sun shining on you
And orange is the feeling of sand between your toes.
Aqua is the lovely sound of flowing water.
White is the sound of happiness from others,
And red is the sweet taste of juicy strawberries

Tui Report

Tui Report

Tui are birds that have black feathers on their body and face, they also have a white turf underneath their chin.

A Tui’s habitat is usually in open country and gardens.  They also live in forest and scrub, the places with a good supply of nectar.  Tuis are found throughout New Zealand and the offshore islands, in spring they may travel outside their normal territory to feed.

The Tui’s call has a Bell-like notes, they croak, cough, and squeak as well.  They have a range of calls and are the first to sing in the morning.

Tui’s feed on fruit, nectar, insects, and berries.  The  young are fed tiny insects and nectar, and slightly older chicks are fed berries, moths, spiders and large insects, mostly stick insects.

November and December is the nesting season for Tui.  The Tui usually lays 2 to 4 eggs.  The Tui moves to off-shore islands to lay their eggs, when this happens it takes about 2 weeks for them to hatch.

Holiday Recount

My Fun Holiday

During the holidays I played on my X-Box360 with my cousin, we played MW 3 and Battle Field 3.  I kept on killing him because he wasn’t that good at games.  Then we went outside and played some games with the next door neighbours.

Later we went to have something to eat at Burger King, we had a lot of burgers and fries.  It was so yummy that I got sick from eating too much, but it was still yummy.  After a little while we went to the pools to cool off a bit.

We went to Westwave, my cousin and I had swimming races.  We both won 2 races each, the last race was in the big pool.  It was close but in the end he won it.  It was tiring having all the races.

Then we went to the movies to watch The Zoo keeper, it was the funniest movie I have ever seen, my favourite animals were all of them.  After the funny movie, we went to the Zoo to see some more animals.

We saw a lot of cool animals.  There were a lot of funny animals, the best animal were penguins, they slip and slide on their belly to get around faster. This day was the best.

I KNOW SOMEONE WHO CAN...

I KNOW SOMEONE WHO CAN...

I know someone who can
touch their nose with his tongue.
I know someone who can
do push ups on their fingertips.
I know someone who can
balance a ten cent coin on his nose.
I know some one who can
walk while doing a handstand.
I know someone who can
eat a whole BBQ rodeo in 6 seconds.
I know someone who can
build a cube and a pyramid out of fries.
I know someone who can
drink a can of fresh up in one minute.
I know someone who can
stretch their legs out and touch their toes.
I know someone who can
use technology really well.
I know someone who can
spin without getting dizzy.
I know someone who can
play X-Box360 24/7 non-stop
and that someone is
Me.
